You ever wonder why Sunday Morning Church looks the way it does? You ever wonder about religion and how so many people use it to control, manipulate and boost their own self esteem?
I've Got Questions...
Tall Carmel Macchiato
Been thinking a lot about us Westerners...trying to look at how we act, what we do, how we interpret things...and how we may be perceived by other cultures. There was a great line in an awesome movie, 'House of Sand & Fog'. Ben Kingsley's character, Behrani, said: "They (westerners) have the eyes of small children who are forever looking for the next source of distraction, entertainment, sweet taste in the mouth."
All that to say...I believe we love us some indulgence. And most of us believe it's owed to us.
A very small thing that I've started doing is ordering my drinks small/tall. Not medium...not large...and not super-sized. Perhaps it will be a small reminder to myself that I have all I need...and to have more just for the sake of indulgence may not be the best thing.
